Travel itinerary

We will arrive in Costa Rica’s capital, San José,where we will be greeted and transferred to our hotel. After the trip, we will be able to rest or take a walk around the area to begin soaking in the local rhythm.

We will dedicate the day to exploring the country’s natural and cultural essence. We will visit a coffee plantation to learn about the process behind the “golden bean,” enjoying a tasting surrounded by mountain scenery. Then, we will ascend to the impressive Poás Volcano to admire its active crater, and finally we will visit La Paz Waterfall Gardens, a spectacular setting of trails, waterfalls, and lush tropical vegetation.

We will depart early on a journey that combines road and river travel toward the northern Caribbean. We will navigate canals surrounded by jungle until we reach Tortuguero National Park,a natural sanctuary where rivers, mangroves, and tropical forests blend with the sea. In the afternoon, we will visit the village to learn about local life and customs.

This day will be dedicated to the lodge’s activities. We will explore the canals by boat, observing monkeys, birds, caimans, and sloths in their natural habitat. We will visit Tortuguero National Park and, since it will be nesting season, those who wish may take part in an optional nighttime turtle-watching excursion.

After breakfast, we will head toward the Arenal region.. We will travel along roads surrounded by green mountains until reaching La Fortuna, a small town at the foot of the country’s most iconic volcano.

We will hike along trails that cross ancient lava fields, enjoying privileged views of the volcano and the lake. In the afternoon, we will relax in natural hot springs that flow from the volcanic earth, surrounded by tropical gardens.

We will continue toward the Tilarán Mountain Range, where the landscape becomes cooler and more mountainous. Monteverde will welcome us with its mist and enchanted forest atmosphere.

We will explore one of the world’s most unique ecosystems, walking among treetops, orchids, ferns, and colorful birds. The hanging bridges will allow us to observe the forest from a new perspective in a day that blends adventure, learning, and connection with nature.

We will head toward the northwest of the country, into the Guanacaste region. The landscape will shift to a volcanic, semi-arid environment where geothermal activity takes center stage.

We will visit this park that combines forest, rivers, waterfalls, and bubbling mud pools. We will walk among fumaroles and natural hot springs, enjoying a different and revitalizing experience amid the volcanic energy of the area.

We will transfer to the Pacific Coast to enjoy some well-deserved time by the sea. We will arrive in Tamarindo, one of Costa Rica’s most famous beach towns—ideal for strolling along the shore, watching the sunset, or joining a surf class.

A day to enjoy at our own pace. We will be able to relax on the beach, take sailing trips, go snorkeling, horseback riding, or simply admire the ocean from the hotel pool.

Another free day in Tamarindo.

In the morning, we will begin our return journey to the capital. Once there, we will have free time to explore the city, visit the Central Market, or enjoy the local gastronomy.

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to Costa Rica and take our return flight to Uruguay, having lived an unforgettable experience across Costa Rican lands, according to the flight itinerary.
