This 7-day trip will center on Cusco, the center of the Andean world. There, we’ll visit the sacred sites of the Incas, including one of the seven wonders of the modern world: the citadel of Machu Picchu. A trip steeped in culture and history where this ancient civilization will surprise us at every turn.

Travel itinerary
We depart from Montevideo Airport in the morning, bound for Lima. After a brief stopover, we’ll arrive in Cusco in the early afternoon, where a group will be waiting to transfer us to our hotel. The afternoon is free to adjust to the altitude and explore the surrounding area. At night we met up with the rest of the group.
This day will be dedicated to a tour of Cusco and its surroundings, visiting the center of the ancient city of Cusco, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Pukará, Tambomachay, and the Sacsayhuaman fortress. Then, we will begin our journey toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the archaeological site of Pisaq, a typical market with picturesque mountain terraces. Through the Urubamba Valley, we continue along the Urubamba River, arriving at Ollantaytambo, one of the most important and best-preserved Inca fortifications, where we will stay.
In the morning, we take the train to Aguas Calientes. From there, we’ll ascend to the long-awaited citadel of Machu Picchu, where, accompanied by a local guide, we’ll tour the citadel, visiting its main sites. We’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon, where we’ll stay again.
In the morning, we visit the Ollantaytambo Fortress. Then, we continue through part of the Sacred Valley, exploring the Maras salt mines and the Moray archaeological site. It will be a day of further exploration of the fascinating culture of these lands. We return to Cusco, where in the evening, we can enjoy a music and dance show at the Qosqo Native Art Center, which includes our tourist ticket.
Free day to explore the city and its interesting museums, or take optional excursions from Cusco, such as Ausangate, where you can visit the majestic Rainbow Mountain, or Humantay Lagoon, famous for their breathtaking views. We will stay in Cusco.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the group traveling by land. We’ll have time to do activities of our own choosing. We’ll spend our last stay in Cusco.
