Travel itinerary

We will depart from Montevideo bound for Campo Grande, the capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Upon arrival, we will check into a comfortable hotel in front of the airport to rest after the flight and prepare to begin our adventure.

After breakfast, we will travel toward the Miranda region, the gateway to the famous Pantanal: the largest continuous wetland in the world and one of Brazil’s most important ecosystems, home to exceptional biodiversity.

After lunch in Miranda, we will check into a welcoming fazenda with full board—a lodge surrounded by lush nature, ideal for immersing ourselves in the sounds, scents, and colors of one of the most biodiverse biomes on the planet.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy our first ecotourism activities, which will introduce us to the surroundings of the fazenda.

We will spend the day exploring the Pantanal ecosystem through a variety of guided activities: we will take an ecological walk to discover the local flora and fauna with expert guides who will teach us how to interpret the signs and sounds of the environment; then, we will take a canoe ride along the channels and coricos of the Miranda River—a silent, magical experience that allows us to observe birds, jacarés (caimans), and other animals up close.

We will also enjoy a river safari along the Miranda and Vermelho rivers, where the meeting of the waters creates a fascinating landscape, as well as a nighttime boat safari—an opportunity to observe nocturnal wildlife under the starry Pantanal sky.

We will continue enjoying the region’s unique experiences, including a land safari in 4×4 vehicles, traveling off-road through fields and wetlands inhabited by capybaras, deer, toucans, macaws, and, with luck, a onça pintada (jaguar).

We will also experience a traditional Pantanal horseback ride,We will also experience a traditional Pantanal horseback ride, crossing fields and flooded areas just like the local vaqueiros. In addition, we will try artisanal piranha fishing,a traditional regional activity. The guides will teach us local techniques, and afterward we will be able to taste this iconic fish in broths prepared at the fazenda.

After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the Pantanal and travel to Bonito, a town internationally known for its crystal-clear rivers and underwater landscapes.

After the transfer and hotel check-in, we will have a free afternoon to rest or explore the town, which maintains a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.

We will spend the day discovering two of the region’s natural icons.

In the morning, we will visit the Blue Lake Grotto (Gruta do Lago Azul),n ancient cave with a deep blue underground lake—one of Brazil’s most photographed natural landmarks. The tour combines trails, geology, and local history.

In the afternoon, we will head to Estância Mimosa,a traditional fazenda adapted for ecotourism. There, we will walk along forest trails and waterfalls, with the chance to swim in crystal-clear waters.

In the morning, we will visit Buraco das Araras,an impressive sinkhole over 100 meters deep that is home to the iconic red macaws and a wide variety of birdlife. From the viewpoints, the visual and acoustic spectacle of the birds is unforgettable.

In the afternoon, we will enjoy one of the trip’s most remarkable experiences: floating in the Rio da Prata. After a short interpretive walk, we will let ourselves drift through transparent waters, observing colorful fish and underwater vegetation in a true natural aquarium.

We will have a free morning to enjoy our last hours in Bonito, explore the town center, or shop for regional products.

At the scheduled time, we will travel back to Campo Grande to take our return flight, carrying with us the essence of the Pantanal and the serenity of Bonito’s waters.
