EXTRAORDINARY CONTRASTED LANDSCAPES BETWEEN ANDEAN MOUNTAIN RANGES AND STRIPED MOUNTAIN RANGES AND VAST PLAINS
An 11-day trip through this historical geographical region of Argentina. On the way we will visit the Pre-mountain range, the pre-Columbian civilizations and the natural monuments of northwestern Argentina. Termas Río Hondo – Tafí del Valle – Ruinas de los Quilmes – Cafayate – Salta – Quebrada de Humahuaca – Purmamarca and its Cerro de los 7 Colores- Tilcara – Humahuaca – Iruya.
During the whole trip we will make as many stops as necessary for cleanliness and short rest for both passengers and drivers, we will travel in comfortable units with bathroom, air conditioner and TV and functional music.

Day 1
We leave Montevideo early in the morning towards the General San Martin bride, cross to Argentina and travel through Entre Ríos province to its capital Paraná and through the subfluvial tunnel we enter the province of Santa Fé. Then we take Route 34 until we reach Santiago del Estero to continue along Route 9 to Termas de Río Hondo where we will take a short walk through the commercial center of the city and we will have time to have lunch.

Day 2
We continue our journey along “la cuesta de los Sosas”, and in the afternoon we arrive to Tafí del Valle where we sleep. Dinner included

Day 3
After breakfast we ascend the hill to the "El Infiernillo" pass, a mountain pass of 3042 msnm that connects the Tafí del Valle with the Calchaquíes valleys. We pass through Amaicha del Valle, an indigenous community of the Diaguita Calchaquí Village with time to visit its museum and viewpoint, have a light lunch and enjoy the typical empanadas from the north.
We continue our trip to visit Ruinas de los Quilmes, which represent the last bastion of indigenous resistance against the realist conquest. The Quilmes were a Calchaquí town that reached great social and economic development becoming one of the most important pre-Columbian settlements of the Calchaquíes, who had been there since 800. We arrived in Cafayate, a city surrounded by vineyards, where the unmistakable torrontés and pateros wines that small producers elaborate stepping grapes and already immersed in the Calchaquíes Valleys, we will stay in this beautiful town. Day 4
After having breakfast we leave in the morning to Salta, we walk through the Quebrada de Cafayate where we will find natural formations that stand out on the way: la Garganta del Diablo (deep and closed canyon), el Anfiteatro (mountainous formation with an impressive acoustics), El Sapo, El Fraile, El Obelisco, Los Castillos, whose names represent what they appear to be. Free afternoon.
In the evening we will participate in a typical Peña Salteña and this will be our first night in this beautiful city. Dinner included

Day 5
Free day in Salta. Optional full day tour to Cachi. We climb up the Cuesta del Obispo to visit Los Cardones National Park that shelters species such as the vicuña, taruca or northern huemul to reach the foothills of the Calchaquíes Valleys. Arrival at Cachi, town surrounded by mountains of all colors and the Calchaquí River. “El Nevado de Cachi”, in one of its points reaches 6720 meters which grants a special frame to the town that reunites about 6mil inhabitants in all the department. Return to Salta. Dinner included

Day 6
Free day in Salta. Optional full day tour through San Antonio de los Cobres and Viaducto La Polvorilla along the route that accompanies Tren de Las Nubes. We stay again in Salta. Dinner included
For those who won’t do any of the optional tours, they would be able to enjoy this beautiful city, walking tours through the center, visit its cathedral, the church of San Francisco and the convent of San Bernardo. Ascend in aero chairs to San Bernardo hill to enjoy the views, and visit San Lorenzo, a craft market and the San Martin park.

Day 7
After breakfast we will enjoy a beautiful day trip to Iruya. We ascend the Quebrada de Humahuaca, deviate briefly especially to visit Purmamarca and its famous 7 colors hill. We return to the north until we reach Humahuaca, continue through the colorful routes until we reach the magical town of Iruya. Here we will stay. Dinner included

Day 8
Full day in this beautiful village on the mountain. It is possible to take a walk to the next town San Isidro or hire vans and make a trip to Pueblo Viejo. We stayed again in Iruya. Dinner included

Day 9
Full day enjoying the landscape on our way to Salta, visiting other small towns of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Dinner included
